If you ever watched the classic TV series Northern Exposure, you might remember the opening scene\u2014a lone moose casually wandering through the fictional town of Cicely, Alaska, as if it owned the place. It was a charming reminder that, in certain parts of the world, wildlife doesn\u2019t just stay in the woods\u2014it strolls right into town.Here in Sandpoint, Idaho, we have our own version of that scene playing out in real life. Moose are a regular part of the landscape, often making their way through neighborhoods, stopping to rest in a backyard, or even taking a dip in an unsuspecting homeowner\u2019s kiddie pool. They have no problem hopping fences to reach the next tasty treat and will \u201cyard up\u201d in residential areas , finding a quiet spot to rest or a tree to nibble.Today I recieved a Nixle alert from the Bonner County Sheriff\u2019s Office reminded residents that \u201cauthorities are aware of the moose roaming around Sandpoint, and there is no cause for concern or need to report.\u201d\u00a0 In other words, this isn\u2019t an emergency\u2014it\u2019s just life in North Idaho.\u00a0\u00a0Mark Don McInnes has often shared videos of the moose that live and play in Sandpoint Idaho.\u00a0
