She worked for the U.S. Embassy Guyana, in South Africa as a logistics coordinator and as a teacher in rural Japan, surfing everywhere she found a wave.Her father\u2019s tales of commercial fishing in Alaska and thrilling grizzly bear stories drew her north of the Arctic Circle at age 18, where she spent the summer working for the National Park Service in Nome. Loving the remote rugged landscapes, Monique was certain she\u2019d be back to the land of the midnight sun.\u00a0After college, and against her Dad\u2019s better judgment, Monique returned to the last frontier to commercial fish. She caught and married a handsome Alaskan Commercial Fisherman, fishing many salmon seasons with her husband while managing the family business.Real estate became an added component to the business when adding several properties to their portfolio. Her degrees in International Business and Environmental Policy informed the various transactions and illuminated the importance of a pro-active and detail oriented Realtor\u00ae, inspiring her to get licensed to help others navigate the process.\u00a0Taking a break from boat maintenance in Seattle\u2019s Fishermen\u2019s Terminal, Monique drove east to North Idaho\u2019s Hope Peninsula to visit a friend.
